Our Story
Sterling Medical was created after over two decades of working in all aspects of the healthcare arena. Scott Brown, CEO, began to formulate the plan while working as CEO of a hospital in Dumas Texas.
At the beginning of his tenure, a large employer with over 2500 employees came to him and told him that they would be bypassing the hospital and driving another 40 miles for healthcare. Scott asked if he could put an idea he had into action in which the company would only pay a portion of what they saved. This idea resulted in millions of dollars of savings for the company, a retention of patients based on quality and satisfaction, and a large check given to the hospital. That was the start!
Sterling was started in 2012 with the first urgent care being purchased January 1, 2013 in Idaho Falls. Currently we have 7 urgent cares in three different states with more under construction. We have been limited only by our ability to keep up with the demand.

Sterling Provider Group
Sterling Provider Group was created alongside Sterling Medical. Corbin Brunnage, a co-owner in Sterling Provider Group, has provided valuable insight and input into the structure of both Sterling Provider Group and Sterling Medical.
Sterling Provider Group makes all the medical decisions for Sterling Urgent Care and Sterling Medical. It also staffs all providers in the Sterling Urgent Care facilities.
This keeps the medical decisions separate from investor and employees.
Sterling Urgent Care
Sterling Urgent Care is the most widely recognized brand in the Sterling Family. With 7 urgent cares across Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming, the clinics have helped thousands of people gain access to affordable healthcare.
Sterling Urgent Care offers a membership program that makes most healthcare needs affordable for a low monthly membership. This usually appeals to those with no insurance and those with high-deductible insurance plans.
When patients have needs outside the Sterling Urgent Care scope, their case management department helps patients to navigate the world of medicine to find high-quality, specialized care, and the available cash discounts for those without insurance.
Sterling Insurance Agency
As the leadership team in Sterling Medical strove to help employers navigate the complex world of healthcare, several things became apparent.
First, changing laws, such as the Affordable Healthcare Act, places requirements on employers while increasing the cost of healthcare.
Second, employers don’t know where to turn for affordable options.
Third, many employers feel that the only option they have is to offer high-deductible health insurance plans to their employees. But, this makes healthcare even more unaffordable for most employees.
As Sterling advisors helped employers to navigate through employer health insurance, it was difficult to get the insurance agents for the employers to really help employers to find the best plans for their employees.
As a result, Sterling Insurance Agency was founded. The goal of Sterling Insurance Agency is to educate employers and to help them navigate the complex healthcare system.
Most employers want to provide affordable healthcare to their employees. It concerns them that high deductible plans result in employees delaying needed medical care because of the costs.
Sterling Insurance Agency and Sterling Urgent Care Membership program team up to give employees access to quality care, while drastically reducing health insurance costs for employers.
